What were your
motivations when creating INGENIERIE DECISION company ? To
take up a personal challenge and to come to managers’ expectations, to build
tools and to provide services dedicated to the improvement of the control of
any situation of change.
Why ? We are all very appealed by the
evolution of our environment and we are witnessing a very important
acceleration of the cycles of change, as well as the explosion of the
networks, and an invasion of the new technologies… We must constantly find
and organize means to face them! The shared use of the
pragmatic methodologies within an organisation
has become indispensable. It was necessary to elaborate them and develop
them progressively with the missions in the field, which I try to realize.
On what bases did you develop them
? On the basis of convictions that are coming from my
experience and the research I have done about the experiences and behaviour
of the decision-makers with regard to changes and the mechanisms they follow
when making a decision: . There are sources of amelioration
places of the control of the situations of change: each decision-maker feels
it : for example, an efficient approach by projects should allow, in fact,
with the support of simple and practical concepts, to put them under good
control. Other actors than decision-makers are in this case able to
understand and fullfill their role better if they have more references on
the framework and the rules of the game. . Each one of them
needs arguments, to have points of reference in order to defend their place
in the society and their environment: like in the society, where each
individual can only have a place as a citizen if the rules of the game have
been shared; in a citizen company, the contribution of methodological
structures that are locating the change can be used to guarantee the
reactivity and the respect of the agreements.
Those
2 points were determining and my work consisted in organizing the changeover
of this conviction to the concrete action. The actions in the field have
done the rest
What was your career path ?
" Built by a professional experience and a
continuing education, I discovered and experienced sometimes more than
others the high complexity of changed situations. This led me to note the
perturbations that they cause in the organizations, and this at an
individual level as well as a collective level; however these disorders are
difficult to treat because they are not expected and the best solutions do
not always correspond to the models and to the academics theories taught in
schools or published in the specialized editions… It was necessary to
configure a system of reference that would combine sufficient theoretical
basis and lessons taken from the practise. So I dedicated my work to the
research in the field. It gave me the conviction that it was possible to
clarify more the contexts of changing situations, to be able to recognise
them, to provide practical tools and to create main threads to assist and
give a sense of responsibility to the actors.
After
having occupied various jobs in the domains of organization and human
resources, my role as a consultant for public and private organizations led
me naturally to consolidate these specializations in the operations of
change.
In parallel, the writing of the
“Representations of Decision Making facing Norms and Generally Accepted
Ideas : the Realities of the Observation”, result of a research about the
change, thesis for the DEA diploma (= post-graduate diploma taken before
completing a PhD), was the first draft of ideas on the management of
changes. It was a trigger of new methodological investigations and later of
the writing of booklets dealing with the problematic of a changing situation
and the approach by project.
It comes out from these
forms of trainings some methodologies of answers to the solicitations of a
change and notably an approach by project and a collection of techniques of
engineery at the service of change situations under the denomination of
ENGINEERING OF THE DECISION®.
Why
is it necessary to be organized to stimulate as well as integrate the
situations of change? For the simple reason that
except in exclusive cultures of obedience or submission, we have the
possibility to always act, whether by taking the initiative individually or
by offering a contribution to existing projects. It is better to acknowledge
its measure and to organize themselves consequently: definition of
citizenship, by Aristotle, that I try to share with my entourage and my
partners, clarifies well this culture of responsibility:

over others as well as to be ruled by others "
